Brookfield Renewable: I Added Its Low-Carbon Dividend To My Renewables Portfolio

Brookfield Renewable Partners ( BEP ) ( BEPC ) offers growing quarterly dividend payouts built on an investment-grade balance sheet and one of the largest publicly listed global renewable energy portfolios. I am bullish on the company, initially buying its 4.625% Perpetual Subordinated Notes ( BEPH ) and stating I'd look to pick up the common shares when I last covered the ticker. The company last declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.373 per share , kept unchanged from the prior distribution, and $1.492 per share annualized for a 5.84% dividend yield. I picked up BEPC, the C corporation, as it does not issue a Schedule K-1 tax form. BEP is a limited partnership. Critically, each BEPC share has the same distribution as a BEP unit. However, BEPC is changing hands for $34.17 per share, markedly higher than BEP, which means its dividend yield comes in 147 basis points lower at 4.37%. ...
