BuzzFeed ( BZFD ) is an interesting turnaround story, from a distressed digital media stock into a still distressed but turnaround stock controlled by Byron Allen. The Allen transaction improves BuzzFeed's survival odds. However, the deal was not a clean deal; 40 million shares were bought at $3.00 per share, but only $20 million of those shares were paid in cash, with the rest secured largely by a circular financing scheme using the acquired shares as collateral....
