Shares of Pathward Financial ( CASH ) have been a moderate performer over the past year, up 11% but lagging the market’s more substantial recovery. Shares fell sharply after the company reported Q1 earnings. While results were broadly in line with expectations, credit trends continue to degrade, and this remains a key area of concern for me. I last covered shares in January , when I rated CASH a “ H old” given weakening credit quality and a low level of reserves, offset by a fair valuation. With updated financials, now is a good time to revisit Pathward. I am increasingly cautious....
