CII: Options Fund With 7% Income, Decent Growth, Zero Leverage, And Lower Volatility

Introduction:
BlackRock Enhanced Large Cap Core Fund, Inc. ( CII ) was known as "BlackRock Enhanced Capital and Income Fund" until last year. They changed the name to align with its investment style and goals. More on this a bit later. This fund was originally launched in April 2004, and in that sense, it has a fairly long history of 21 plus years. The fund invests in a rather small number of stock holdings (between 35 and 50) that are usually large-capitalized, well-established companies and represented in the Russell 1000 index. The sector allocation is not too far from that of the S&P500. Domestic U.S. companies (U.S. listed companies) make up the majority of the fund, usually 95% or above. The fund utilizes a buy-write call options strategy on roughly 50% of its underlying portfolio. Also, it writes call options on the individual holdings rather than any index....
