Germanium Mining Corp. Strategically Expands Lac Du Km 35 Germanium Property In Quebec
(TheNewswire)
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, JANUARY14th, 2026 – TheNewswire - GERMANIUM MINING CORP. (“GERMANIUMMINING”, “GMC”, OR THE “COMPANY”) (CSE: GMC; OTCQB: EMSKF;FSE: 1I30) is pleased to announce ithas increased the size of its 100% optioned Lacdu Km 35 Germanium property, located near the mining town ofChibougamau, Quebec. The property has been strategically expanded by 4mineral claims covering over 221 hectares and now comprises a total of79 claims covering an area of 4,371.28 hectares (43.7 squarekilometres).
Mario Pezzente, chief executiveofficer, commented: “The expansion of the 100% optioned Lac duKm 35 Germanium property reflects the Company’s efforts toconsolidate its land position in areas of geological interest. Webelieve this strategically expanded footprint provides a broaderplatform for future exploration and evaluation.”
Property Description
The Lac du Km 35 germanium property is approximately 40kilometres east of the mining town of Chibougamau in theNord-du-Quebec region of Quebec and has excellent access throughHighway 167 and a main lumber road that transects the whole propertyfrom the west to the east as well as a network of secondaryroads.
The property is underlain by the volcano-sedimentarysequence of the Roy group and its metamorphic equivalent, theLaganiere gneissic complex, which hosts the Lac Dore intrusive suite, which is a mafic-to-ultramafic stratiform and synvolcanic intrusion, and the later-stage Duberger felsic pluton; all these rock unitsbelong to the northeastern portion of the Abitibi greenstone beltsubprovince of Archean age. To the west of the property, rocks weremetamorphosed at the greenschist facies where the chlorite mineral isubiquitous while the eastern portion has reached the amphibolitemetamorphism grade.
A prominent structural element is the ductile Faribaultshear zone (FSZ), oriented east-southeast and located toward theeastern part of the property. The FSZ dips to the south-southwest andends to the Grenville front, which extends southwest-northeast forseveral hundreds of kilometres. The Grenville front separates theAbitibi greenstone belt from younger Mesoproterozoic rocks and is onlya few kilometres to the east of the property. The FSZ is an importantfeature that could have been joined by other permeable zones at depthas a preferential conduit for hydrothermal fluids.
Discovered by government geologists in 1998 and neverfollowed up, the Laganiere Germanium showing consists of a peridotiteoutcrop within the Laganiere gneissic complex that comprisesamphibolites and hornblende and biotite gneisses. The Laganiereshowing returned a value of 0.02 per cent (186 parts per million)Germanium. These results are consideredhistorical in nature. A qualified person has notcompleted sufficient work to verify these historical results, and theCompany is not treating these historical results as current mineralresources or mineral reserves.
The Laganiere germanium showing is located rightalongside the main lumber road and immediately adjacent to the southto a cluster of electromagnetic anomalies of roughly 400 metres by 400metres in size that were never tested. The Laganiere germanium showingis also 450 metres northeast of the FSZ, 800 metres from the southernmargin of the Duberger felsic pluton and approximately two kilometresto the west of the Grenville Front. Apart from regional mapping andsampling of government geologists, the Laganiere germanium showingarea remains vastly underexplored and overlooked and constitutes theprime focus for the Company.
Recent exploration work performed in 2024, consistingof prospecting and sampling, allowed the company to collect 39 outcropsamples. Values up to 0.27 per cent nickel, 0.04 per cent cobalt, 0.24per cent copper and 0.21 gram per tonne goldwere obtained from these samples. The highest zinc value is 0.07 percent and only three samples had overall zinc values over 0.05 percent. Due to the digestion method selected, Germanium values weredeemed not reliable.
