Gold Prices Dip, but This Junior Miner Shines on Strong Finland Drill News

Despite gold pulling back from its recent highs near $4,400 per ounce, investor sentiment toward the metal remains broadly bullish over the medium to long term, as the fundamentals driving its meteoric rise are still intact. The current dip appears to be a typical overbought correction. Interestingly, even with gold’s reversal, shares of this micro-cap are trending higher today following the company’s announcement of impressive drill results at its gold project in Finland.

FireFox Gold Corp. (TSX-Venture: FFOX) (OTCQB: FFOXF) has released strong initial drill results from the first four holes of its 2025/26 diamond drilling campaign at the 100%-owned Mustajärvi Gold Project in Lapland, Finland. The program’s early focus was to test targets outlined by fixed loop electro-magnetic (FLEM) surveys conducted earlier this year. The first hole, 25MJ001, intercepted a broad zone of gold-rich mineralization with 9.55 metres grading 9.35 g/t gold and 11.1 metres grading 7.28 g/t gold, roughly 280 metres southwest of the East Zone. These promising results validate the use of FLEM geophysics at Mustajärvi, prompting the Company to launch additional surveys across the project area while drilling continues.

The remaining three holes, 25MJ002 through 25MJ004, were drilled roughly 50 metres southwest of the main East Zone and returned several impressive gold intercepts, extending the mineralized footprint. Highlights include 1.15 metres grading 28.5 g/t gold in hole 25MJ002, 0.9 metres at 104 g/t gold in 25MJ003, and 4.0 metres at 18.4 g/t gold (including 1.0 metre at 40.3 g/t gold) in 25MJ004. These results further demonstrate the high-grade potential of the East Zone and reinforce FireFox Gold’s confidence in the continued expansion of the Mustajärvi project.

Carl Lofberg, FireFox's CEO, commented on the new results, "These first results from the 2025 drill program are a positive next step in expanding the Mustajärvi discovery. The most exciting element so far is the clear success of the FLEM survey in detecting pyrite-hosted high-grade gold to extend the East Zone. Drill hole 25MJ001 cut two strong intercepts right in the middle of the geophysical target, at less than 100 metres downhole. The location of these high-grade intercepts, which include multiple assays above 20.0 g/t gold, is strong evidence for continuation of the southern gold trend that we discovered in 2023."

Shares of FFOX are currently up 11.11% at $0.70, while U.S. listed shares (FFOXF) are unchanged at $0.454 in mid-morning trading.
