Background
In 2023, I wrote about MicroVision's ( MVIS ) acquisition of Ibeo, which added IbeoNEXT, a LiDAR sensor, to the proprietary MAVIN sensor designed for the consumer autos market. I expressed in the article that the technology did not prevent Ibeo from declaring bankruptcy, even when at one point, the company was supported by the majority owner, ZF Automotive. The German conglomerate could have easily made Ibeo a success if the tech had been up to par. Instead, ZF let Ibeo go into insolvency....
