Micro Cap Miner Perks Higher on Strong Drill Results and Ongoing Gold Rally

Gold prices are finding renewed support following weekend developments in Venezuela, as investors often turn to the precious metal during periods of geopolitical uncertainty. Beyond these near-term events, gold has remained in a strong bullish trend since breaking out in 2024, with little indication of slowing momentum.

This sustained strength in gold prices has benefited miners across the spectrum, including a junior gold company that released new drill results this morning. The positive announcement has pushed the stock higher, with shares now testing a potential technical breakout near its key $3.50 resistance level.

Lavras Gold Corp. (TSX-Venture: LGC) (OTCQX: LGCFF) reported new drill results from its ongoing diamond drilling program at the Fazenda/Butiá Project, part of the broader Lavras do Sul Project in southern Brazil. The latest assays continue to demonstrate wide, continuous zones of gold mineralization that align well with the company’s geological model for the alkaline intrusive complex. Highlights include a 190-metre interval averaging 1.01 g/t gold from surface at Fazenda, as well as multiple higher-grade sections within broader mineralized zones at both Fazenda and Butiá, underscoring the scale and consistency of the gold system.

In total, Lavras Gold has completed 50 drill holes totaling 16,714 metres across the two targets during 2025, with the majority focused on the Butiá Deposit. Recent drilling has further validated the continuity of gold mineralization across the district, supporting the potential for a large, connected system. Building on this progress, the company plans an expanded 20,000-metre drill program in 2026 aimed at advancing the Fazenda/Butiá Project while also testing additional district-scale exploration opportunities.

"Today's results are consistent with what we have seen across this system," said Hemdat Sawh, Interim CEO and CFO. "Broad mineralized intervals containing high-grade shoots continue to build the resource base at the Fazenda/Butiá Project and enhance our understanding of its geological drivers. These intersections feed directly into the geological models that will underpin the next phases of resource estimation and project development.”

Shares of LGC are currently up 2.79% at $3.495, while U.S. listed shares (LGCFF) are trading up 2.41% at $2.55 in mid-morning trading.
