Numbers, usually an investor’s best friend, can also become an obstacle.
To a Seeking Alpha investor audience, I’d be preaching to the choir if I explained the importance of numbers (relating to earnings, financial condition, etc.) such as those reported regularly by publicly traded companies.
I’ve been screening for stocks since the 1980s, when the program was on a floppy disk in the pc’s A drive. Data, stored on a second floppy, went into the B drive. It was cool to watch the A- and B-drive lights flash back and forth as the computer read alternately from the program and the data....
