The much-delayed September BLS Jobs report was finally posted last Thursday. It landed with a thud. Not because the numbers were bad. In fact, the survey showed that 119,000 jobs were created in September. This was more than double the 50,000 consensus estimate. However, the stronger labor market read greatly reduced the odds of a rate cut at the mid-December FOMC meeting on Thursday. This was the key reason that markets suffered their worst intraday reversal since April. ...
