Company reportscontinued progress following Silicon Catalyst Portfolio Companyupdate; appoints semiconductor veteran Dave Dwelley as StrategicAdvisor as Edgewater advances toward key PrismIQ™ prototype, demonstration and commercialization milestones
May 28, 2026 – Ottawa, Canada andSunnyvale, USA – Edgewater Wireless SystemsInc. (TSXV: YFI) (OTC:KPIFF), the industry pioneer of AI-powered Wi-FiSpectrum Slicing™ silicon solutions and IP, today provided acorporate update highlighting momentum across its high-reliabilitywireless strategy, increasing interest in dual-use applications, continued progress on its Wi-Fi 8-ready PrismIQ™ roadmap and theappointment of semiconductor veteran Dave Dwelley asa StrategicAdvisor to the Company.
The update follows Edgewater’s participation inthe Silicon Catalyst Spring2026 Portfolio Company Update at the ComputerHistory Museum in Mountain View, California, where President andCEO Andrew Skafel presented the Company’s progress to investors, strategic partners, semiconductor advisors and fellow portfoliocompanies.
“The Silicon Catalyst Portfolio Company Updateprovided a valuable opportunity to share Edgewater’s progress andengage with semiconductor investors, advisors and ecosystemparticipants,” said Andrew Skafel, President and CEO of EdgewaterWireless. “We believe the market is increasingly focused on wirelessreliability, predictability and performance under real-worldconditions — areas that align closely with the objectives of ourSpectrum Slicing™ platform.”
Dual-Use Momentum ExpandsEdgewater’s Core Opportunity
Edgewater continues to see growing interest in applyingits Spectrum Slicing™ architecture to dual-use and mission-criticalcommunications markets, including drones, UAVs, robotics, autonomoussystems, defence, public safety and critical infrastructure.
The Company views this activity as a natural expansionof its existing target markets, not a shift away from its core Wi-Fistrategy. Edgewater’s technology was developed to address the samefundamental wireless challenges that impact homes, enterprises, industrial networks and service provider deployments: congestion, interference, contention, latency and unpredictable performance underload.
In dual-use and autonomous applications, thosechallenges become even more urgent.
“Whether the application is a home, a factory, aservice provider network or an autonomous platform, the problem isincreasingly the same: wireless has to work when conditions aredifficult,” added Skafel. “Dual-use is exciting because it extendsEdgewater’s core silicon advantage into environments wherereliability is not just valuable — it can bemission-critical.”
In March 2026, Edgewater announced a Memorandum ofUnderstanding with AirMetal Robotics to explore high-reliabilitywireless solutions for UAV, robotics, defence, security, publicsafety, critical infrastructure and other dual-use applications. TheMOU established a framework to evaluate technical and commercial collaboration opportunities involvingEdgewater’s interference-tolerant Spectrum Slicing™technology.
The Company believes the growing interest in dual-useapplications reinforces a broader market trend: the need for wirelesssystems that can maintain predictable performance in dense, contestedand interference-heavy RF environments.
Spectrum Slicing™: Built forReal-World Wireless Conditions
Edgewater’s patented Spectrum Slicing™ architectureis designed to dynamically partition available spectrum into multipleconcurrent in-band channels within a single radio. In practical terms, this means the system can start with conventional wide-channeloperation and then adapt by slicing available spectrum into narrowerconcurrent channels when real-world conditions require it.
This approach is intended to improve usable capacity, reduce latency and increase resilience in congested environments, while supporting both legacy and next-generation devices.
“Conventional wireless architectures were designedfor a world where peak speed was the headline,” said Eric Smith, VP Product of EdgewaterWireless. “The next era is different. Networksneed to understand the spectrum in real time, adapt intelligently andkeep traffic moving when the environment becomes noisy, crowded orunpredictable. That is the core value of SpectrumSlicing™.”
Edgewater believes these same capabilities position theCompany for the emerging Wi-Fi 8 / Ultra High Reliability era whilealso opening adjacent opportunities in high-value dual-use, drone, robotics and mission-critical communications markets.
Silicon Catalyst Momentum andStrategic Advisor Appointment
