Now that I have researched the alternative asset manager Blue Owl Capital ( OWL ) and its associated business development company called Blue Owl Capital Corporation ( OBDC ), I thought about doing the same exercise with Ares Management ( ARES ) and Ares Capital ( ARCC ). As illustrated in the relative price performance chart below, BDCs have performed much better than their respective manager since worries about private credit started to emerge last fall. In my view, this could be explained by the fact that OBDC and ARCC invest primarily in first lien senior secured notes, which helps in mitigating volatility....
