Back in March, Seeking Alpha published my article on the SPDR S&P Oil & Gas Exploration & Production ETF ( XOP ) titled XOP: Bearish Political Events Have Driven Down Oil & Gas Stocks . Following the thesis of that title, I recommended investors SELL the XOP ETF. Since then, the XOP ETF has underperformed the S&P 500 by ~14.5% (see chart below).
