GSI Technology: SBIR Win Opens Addressable Edge-Case Drone Possibilities

GSI Technology ( GSIT ) had a decent result in terms of SRAM growth in Q4. More importantly, they are getting somewhere with a drone defense application for the G-II, expanding to applications with the US military. For the FY, R&D was up as the G-III, a.k.a. Plato continues its development, though with Q4 R&D figures more contained than last year. Drones are something to really highlight. GSIT has the advantage that its APU is supposed to be very efficient with in-memory convolutions, which saves energy and time at the edge. The Sentinel win announced a couple of weeks ago (SBIR grant win) is quite an important validation of the tech, and they will make their way forward in the development to try to get it demonstrated for the US military. Otherwise, we are looking at 2027 for more from the Gemini platform in Plato. The only concern we have is that they are deciding to go it alone in terms of making a market for their products, but then the last time the stock rose above $10, insiders started selling, which is a mixed signal in terms of how long we should expect this thing to run and how confident the management is in what they have....
