Northern Trust : Shares escalated over 6% following a Wall Street Journal report, which referenced insiders indicating Bank of New York Mellons recent approach to Northern Trust about a potential merger. BNY is reportedly assessing its next moves, possibly leading to a formal bid, although discussions may not culminate in an agreement.
Fiserv : The financial services firm saw its shares surge nearly 5% after announcing plans to expand into the stablecoin market by launching a stablecoin and digital asset platform for its banking clients. It has partnered with Circle and Paypal to drive these initiatives forward. Circles shares climbed 5%, while Paypal increased almost 1%.
Novo Nordisk : The pharmaceutical companys stock tumbled over 5% after underwhelming results from its next-generation obesity drug, CagriSema, showed no significant advantage over Eli Lillys Zepbound. Additionally, Novo Nordisk ended its partnership with Hims & Hers Health due to compounding and marketing issues, sending Hims shares plummeting about 20%.
Estee Lauder : The cosmetics stock rose 2%, spurred by Deutsche Banks upgrade from hold to buy, giving it the highest Wall Street price target according to analysts polled by LSEG.
DoorDash : The food delivery giants stock increased by 2%, following an upgrade to strong buy from outperform by Raymond James. The firm noted the undervalued synergy potential with British food delivery service Deliveroo, which DoorDash is acquiring.
Energy Stocks: Energy company shares rose after Irans parliamentary backing to close the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial oil trade route. The U.S. urged China to deter Irans action. Exxon Mobil shares rose nearly 2%, while Marathon Petroleum and ConocoPhillips each gained over 1%. Companies linked to nuclear energy such as Centrus Energy and Uranium Energy Corp. saw gains exceeding 3% and 1%, respectively.
Tesla : Shares increased almost 1% as Tesla launched its robotaxi service in Austin, Texas, over the weekend. Wedbush analyst Dan Ives reported the ride surpassed his expectations.
RTX , Northrop Grumman , Kratos Defense and Security : Defense stocks edged up as the U.S. struck Iranian nuclear sites. RTX and Northrop Grumman shares each increased around 1%, with military tech stock Kratos gaining 2%. .
