Key deals this week: Orla Mining, Wendy's, NetApp and more

- Orla Mining ( ORLA ) up 5% pre-market Wednesday after Equinox Gold ( EQX ) announced it agreed to acquire the company in a deal that would ?create a North American senior gold producer with ~1.1M oz of expected annual gold production from six operating mines across ?Canada, the U.S., ?Mexico, and Nicaragua.
- Brookfield Asset Management ( BAM ) is set to acquire World Freight Company for an enterprise value of about $1.2B from investment firms EQT and PAI Partners, according to a Reuters report that cites sources familiar with the matter.
- German utility group E.ON ( EONGY ) said Monday it agreed to acquire Ovo Energy in a deal that would create Britain's largest energy supplier; the companies did not disclose the value of the deal, although previous reports indicated it could total as much as £600M.
- A Wendy's ( WEN ) potential takeover in the $9-$12 a share is possible after the Financial Times reported earlier that Nelson Peltz’s Trian Fund Management is seeking investor backing for a bid for the fast-food chain, according to a Wedbush analyst.
- Starz Entertainment ( STRZ ) soared 10% after a report that media mogul Byron Allen is interested in buying the entertainment company.
- NetApp ( NTAP ) ticked higher by 2.1% amid some takeover speculation. There's some takeover speculation around NetApp , according to a Betaville "uncooked" alert circulating among traders on Thursday. It's not clear which company is circling NetApp.
- Akamai Technologies ( AKAM ) announced on Thursday that it is intending to acquire browser security company LayerX, as it seeks to boost its zero trust security portfolio.
